MyMagic+ Wristbands At Walt Disney

Walt Disney Co.’s new electronic wristbands successfully boosted spending by guests during its tests at Walt Disney World, Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs told Bloomberg.

The bands — dubbed “Magic Bands” — serve as admission tickets, hotel room keys and credit cards. They were being tested by 1,000 people at Walt Disney World Resort and, on average, guests spent more because they had fun with the new technology, Staggs told Bloomberg.

Burbank, Calif.-based Disney (NYSE: DIS) still has additional trials planned for the MyMagic+ technology before it expands it throughout Walt Disney World by year-end, Staggs told Bloomberg.
