TODAY I CAN DO ANYTHING - by Daymond John
Today 24-year-old former entertainment makeup artist and restaurant server Ranya Batal announced the official release of her new line of motivational and inspirational T-shirts, accessories and wristbands business called TODAY I CAN DO ANYTHING. Batal had no idea what she had on her hands back in December of 2011 when she printed up a few shirts with the brand's name on them to simply give away to inspire her friends. The response was tremendous and immediate. Before Ranya knew it, many were calling and wanting to buy shirts. There was more demand than she could satisfy on her own. Motivated, Ranya turned to her family for advice on how to turn this great idea into a business. In January of 2012 Ranya opened a kiosk at the Hollywood and Highland Center and became an instant success. Customers loved it, there is so much positive energy that comes from these products, they have changed peoples lives. What started out as motivating a few friends now has Ranya wanting to motivate a nation.
Daymond John first discovered TICDA in February of 2012 while in Los Angeles promoting his ABC business show "Shark Tank." Batal was shocked to pick up her phone and hear Daymond's voice on the other end.
"Daymond has been such an inspiration to me in my life, to find out that he was interested in helping me with my product was really incredible," said Batal.
Upon meeting Ranya and seeing her product, Daymond knew he'd come across something that could move the masses. He soon agreed to mentor Ranya and help her develop her brand.
"When we created FUBU, what we were really doing was giving a voice to a generation that needed to be heard," said John. "We connected with people on an emotional level. TODAY I CAN DO ANYTHING (TICDA) has the ability to empower people in a similar way but with even wider appeal! This translates in every language. I'm proud to be a part of something that I know can inspire and motivate people to make their dreams come true."
Since teaming up with Daymond, TICDA has launched their website, opened a second retail operation at Century City in Los Angeles and begun shipping internationally. Sales have quadrupled. Many celebrities and Athletes are now wearing the shirts and silicone wristbands. Several high profile co-branding deals are on the table as well as TICDA grows from being a promotional tool to a full cut-and-sew line ready to enthuse the world.
"There is a very special attachment that people have to our products, TICDA gives them ownership in the brand, it's not a statement it's a call to action," said Batal. "From kids in school, athletes, people that want to lose weight, people who need a lift to build their self confidence to sales people who want to excel. The stories that people from around the world share with us who have been touched by the message and posts on our Facebook have been truly moving."
"We have changed people's lives," said Batal. "Having already made a huge impact in such a short time, it is surely only the beginning for TODAY I CAN DO ANYTHING."
