Global Wristband Project to Aid Victims of 2004 Thailand Tsunami

Denver-based yoga clothing company, be present, has partnered with the Global Wristband Project to launch a line of branded hand-woven wristbands in November of this year. These wristbands are individually hand woven by victims of the 2004 tsunami that hit Thailand which gives them full time employment. In conjunction with Global Wristband Project, be present will release a wristband with its logo and the words ‘be present,’ to help bring awareness to the mission of Global Wristband Project.

Global Wristband Project was founded in 2010 by Christina Sabatini. It is a socially conscious company that helps raise awareness and financial aid for global artisans and service projects around the world. The company works with a tsunami relief foundation in Thailand that supports local artisans and victims of the 2004 tsunami disaster. At current, there are 29 Global Wristband artisans receiving full-time employment as part of a hand-weaving art therapy program. To date, Global Wristband Project has raised over $100,000.

be present is thrilled to partner with GWP and help promote its mission within the yoga community. “We are already advocates for what Global Wristband Project has done to help tsunami victims. The fit within the yoga community is a no-brainer and I have no doubts that the wristbands will have a strong reception. We’re excited knowing we can leverage our own reach to help spread word about this amazing organization and bring more awareness to various service projects around the globe,” says be present Director of Marketing Maggie Mistovich.

Global Wristband Project Founder, Christina Sabatini speaks highly of the new partnership as well. “The direction of this collaboration will only go upward from here,” says Sabatini. “With a common interest and focus on a greater cause, GWP and be present are building a strong foundation together for service. I look forward to raising more awareness with this inspiring company and with the help and continuous support of the yoga community.”
