Community for a Cure was such a huge success last September that
another similar event will be held June 14, 2014 at World Series Park
called Target the Darkness.
The 2012 event raised $27,000 for TargetCancer that funds research for the rare and lesser known cancers.
In order to get out the necessary information and give people the opportunity to contribute, TargetCancer in cooperation with World Series Park will have a booth at Founder’s Day this Saturday, Sept. 7.
Offered at the booth will be corn-on-the-cob, popcorn, peanuts, iced coffee, iced tea, water, TargetCancer wristbands and TargetCancer memory balloon cards.
In addition, Saugus author Maryellen Ruggiero will be available for book signings between noon and 2 p.m. The booth will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be located at Central and Taylor streets and all are invited to stop by.
