A housebuilding company has donated high-visibility wristbands to
schoolchildren in Mill Hill to help keep them safe on their walk to
school.
Taylor Wimpey made the donation to Courtland School as part of Walk to
School Month which encourages children and parents to make walking to
school part of their daily routine, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and
cutting car journeys.
Christine Scarborough, regional sales and marketing director for
Taylor Wimpey, said: “Nowadays there is a real concern about the amount
of time children spend outside being active and walking to school is an
ideal way to help them get more exercise – but it’s important that they
can be seen clearly by motorists.
“We hope our high-visibility slap bands will help keep the children safe
during the darker winter months and encourage them to walk to school
more regularly. More children walking will also help minimise the number
of cars on the road at the beginning and end of the school day.”
