Fight Against Bullying

Students from Launceston's Brooks High School used the fourth annual National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence to speak up about the issue.

Olivia Restall says she has been taunted for years.

Having regained her confidence she helped hand out wristbands and support information at a local shopping centre.

"Teachers and parents just really need to get the message out to kids that bullying's not OK," she said.

Fellow grade 10 student Chelsea Harding says everyone has a role to play.

"You don't realise that one tiny little word can just change somebody's mind completely, it can damage them so much," she said.

Almost 70 Tasmanian schools have taken part in the National Day of Action.
